Night 23, The Wicker Man (1973)

31 Nights of Horror, Night 23: The Wicker Man

Three sentence review:

It’s super fun to laugh at the Nicolas Cage remake of The Wicker Man (NOT THE BEES!) but have you ever watched the eerie original British version from the 1970s? A policeman arrives to the small town of Summerisle to investigate the disappearance of a 12 year old girl and things go from weird to weirder very quickly (I imagine this film is similar to attending Burning Man). The unsettling tone of this movie is really highlighted by how bizarre the whole scenario becomes; there are some horrifying masks and cult-like rituals that take place before the film concludes in all of its depraved glory.
