31 Nights of Horror IV, Night 27: Ginger Snaps
Three sentence review:
Ginger Snaps is without a doubt the best werewolf movie to come out in 25 years – and not just because I have a major girl crush on Katharine Isabelle. I highly recommend this 2000 Canadian teen horror film because it is dark, brutal, stylish and seriously entertaining. In the film, Ginger and her little sister, Brigitte, are two high school outcasts who are obsessed with death and must deal with the aftermath of a vicious attack by a terrifying beast in the woods.
Right??!I feel like all other werewolf narratives let me down because this one was just perfect. I actually did a presentation on this film for a Gender & Horror course back in university. My group took a series of fake suicide pics and ran them on a slideshow throughout lol. It was awesome.
Whaaatt?! There was a gender and horror course at your university? That is amazing and I love that you did the fake death pics to honor the movie. That kicks ass!
Haha yes, I was a film major. And I actually ended up teaching it a few years later in Grad school. No one did death pics though 😦
